2016 Regular Season

 Fall Baseball Update

Majors and Minors-We have joined the Wayne Little League Fall Baseball League.  We will be playing local Little Leagues both home and away.  Practices will start the week of 8/23.  Games start the weekend of September 10th or 17th and end the weekend of November 9th.  Games will be on Saturday and Sunday, weeknights for rain outs.  Cost is $75.  This is a rec league, like our Spring league, for all skill levels.

Majors-Little League age 10, 11 & 12 and Minors-Little League age 8, 9, & 10 (10 year olds still learning should consider this division.)  Fall Minors is similar to our Spring Upper Minors (ie)player pitch, no coach pitch.  Cut and paste this registration link:  https://mylsports.com/PEQLL/event-registration?event_id=27&LID=1

Thank you to Maryann Goodwin and the PTHS Softball team for conducting a softball clinic on Saturday, 4/2/16.  All who attended appreciate thier time and talent.

Rutgers SAFETY Clinic-thank you to Dan Dooley and John Davis for conducting the training class on 4/4/16.  We now have 32 newly trained volunteers.  Thank you to Karen Shirazi-McGowan for checking in the registrants.

Umpire Clinic - Monday, April 11th 7:00-8:30pm  Washington Park field house:  First and second year umpires are required to attend.  Ages 11 and up can register to be umpires.  Please use this link to sign up to umpire.  This list will be shared with all supervisors.

Gold Glove Academy will be holding hitting clinics exclusively for Pequannock Little League players.
Hitting clinics being the week of April 18 and will run for 6 weeks.  Girls Minors, ages 9 and 10-Mondays 6:00 to 7:30pm, Girls Majors, ages 11 and 12-Mondays 7:30 to 9:00pm, Boys Minors, ages 9 and 10-Wednesdays 6:00 to 7:30pm, Boys Majors, ages 11 and 12-Thursdays 7:30 to 9:00pm


Opening Day Parade and Ceremony 2016 - April 16, 2016

    • Teams will ine up at 8:15am, drop off in the back parking lot of PVMS
    • Parade to leave PVMS by 8:30am
    • Opening Ceremony on WP1 by 9:00am
    • All games start one hour later than normal
    • Wear sneakers, not cleats
    • Do not bring candy to throw
    • Games start one hour later than regular time.

Player Evaluations-Thank you to everyone who came to Player Evaluations yesterday.  Special thanks to those who volunteered their time:  Mike Killion, John Czepiel, Frank Arena, and Donna Travers for pitching, Jen Brath and Kristie Deitch for managing player check in, Mark Tomaskovic, Kyle Tomaskovic, Pat Walsh, Colin Brath, Timmy Deitch, Emily Deitch, Jake Nelson, Alyson Travers, Emma Torisiello and a few willing dads  for being fielding partners, and to Mike Bionde and Gold Glove Academy for loaning Peq LL his facility for the day.

 Basic First Aid Training-Thank you to Mike McCabe and Matt Bruh for conducting two great training sessions for 40 of our coaches.  Thank you to all that attending and particpated in the discussions.New for 2016, Little League Baseball and Softball, Inc is requiring local leagues to offer basic first aid training as part of their annual safety plan.  At least one coach at the field must have attended our training or some form of training.  Mike McCabe and Matt Bruh are volunteering their time and supplies for two training sessions for Pequannock Little League.  If interested, please sign up for one of the following sessions.  Both will be held at the Washington Park field house.  There is no cost for the training, just a suggested $5 donation at check in to be donated to the American Red Cross on behalf of Pequannock Little League.  The training is for any level coach, head or assistant.  Tuesday, 2/23/16 7:30-9:00pm and Wednesday, 2/24/16 7:30-9:00pm

March 2016 Clinic:  Due to gym availability and Spring Break, we had to make a few changes this year.

Mondays:  Feb. 29th and March 7th and 14th, 5:30-6:30pm or 6:30-7:30pm, Hillview School Gym, Boys and Girls ages 5 and 6

Basics of throwing, catching, fielding, and base running

$30 payable on the first night by cash or check, First year players can use a $25 credit towards the clinic.
