Registration for Baseball Softball

Registration for the 2011 spring season is open. Please visit our website, http://www.peqll.com/ and click on the link to sign up. Please follow the steps and ensure all your contact information is updated.

Please let your friends and neighbors know about Little League signups. Help us spread the word.

We are also trying to get a couple teams to play at the Junior and Senior levels this year, please let your children and their friends know. As of Jan 16th, we have 12 registered for baseball and 6 for softball. Also, we are looking for Coaches for these levels. Please let us know if you can help us out.

As usual, if you are having any issues, or have a hardship with registering your children to play this year, please do not hesitate to contact a Board Member. We will hold any correspondence in the strictest confidence. We would just like to have the kids Play Ball!!!

General Meeting

Our next General Meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, January 26th 6:30 at the American Legion Hall in PP.

If you have any questions or comments about the league, please come out and let us know. You can also contact us at peqll@peqll.com.

New Baseball Bat Regulations

As noted previously Little League had adopted a new ban on Composite bats for baseball. Please check the littleleague.org website for more information. As of now, no composite bats are allowed for use in the Major Baseball Division or below. Some composite bats are allowed for the Junior and Senior. A listing for these is on the below link.

The following is a link to a note that Little League sent out in an email last week; http://www.littleleague.org/learn/equipment/approvedcompbats.htm

Coaching Spots

Anyone interested in Coaching this year is requested to contact Dwight ASAP. Spots are filling up.

Uniforms and Equipment

If you have any uniforms or equipment from last year, please return them ASAP. Someone will be at the field house after the meeting if you can drop any items off. We are looking to get our inventory set up for next year and we have quite a number of items missing.

Rutgers Clinic Class and Umpire signups

We hope to once again hold a Rutgers Clinic probably in late March. Please check the website for more details in the coming weeks.

We should have the umpire signup link on the website by mid February. Please check the website. In order to be an umpire, we require that the child be 2 years out of the level they wish to ump and usually age 11/ 12 and up.

A Fundraiser for a Member of our Little League Community.

Don Jones a long time resident of Pequannock Township and an active community member who you may know as a coach of his children’s soccer and softball teams suffered a devastating heart attack in December that left him in a coma for weeks. His family and friends prayed for a miracle and after the New Year he awoke, but with limited functional abilities. His family is now confronted with the unexpected financial and emotional struggles associated with his long road to recovery.
